Jennifer brings extensive experience and training to her unique teaching style. She provides a relaxed, comfortable place for students to discover and explore a unique experience with their bodies through breath, easy movement and yoga postures. She advocates a compassionate approach that focuses on freedom and ease in movement, encouraging students to be gentle with themselves, and be present with where they are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She believes that progress happens faster when we learn to honour our limitations and grow from where we are.
Jennifer trained in a Sivananda-based style with Glenn Mifsud at Stillpoint Yoga in Picton, Ontario. She began teaching in a church hall in Bracebridge in January 2003 and, hockey bag in hand, worked out of several locations in town until settling at Shapes Fitness for Women in 2012. She has taught at summer resorts in Muskoka as well as local gyms and recreation centres.
Jennifer began her yoga journey in her early 20’s with the book “Yoga for Health” by Richard Hittleman as her first companion. Many decades later, a perennial student, she has acquired hundreds of training hours in Yoga Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy, Yoga Dance, Pre-Natal Yoga, Spinal Integration, to name a few, and now specializes in Yoga Therapy.
